Language skills will also be priceless when it comes to finding work<\/a>.<\/p>\n This is because vocational jobs tend to involve more conversing with German-speaking colleagues and customers. Not to mention whoever you\u2019re trying to impress in an interview!<\/p>\n Some ability to speak German, even if you\u2019re not fluent, will give potential employers confidence. Or you may be working in IT, which makes it a little easier. Therefore it does not offer the opportunity to bring your spouse or dependent children with you. This goes for any other dependents too.<\/p>\n Ultimately, the visa only permits you to live in Germany, and only with the express intention of looking for work<\/strong>.<\/p>\n However, if you do want your family to move to Germany with you, this could still be achievable eventually<\/em>.<\/p>\n To explain: You can still apply for a Job Seeker Visa for just yourself. Then, if you find employment here and are granted a German residence permit, you\u2019ll be able to work on the subsequent immigration of your family from there.<\/p>\n This is usually doable in most cases – although obviously a huge number of other stipulations apply to any immigration process, and we can\u2019t go into detail on that here.<\/p>\n Of course, this option does mean spending six months in Germany looking for work and away from your family. Which is understandably not a move that everyone is willing or able to make.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n You need to be able to support yourself financially for the duration of your visa stay.<\/p>\n Not only this, but you need to be able to prove that you have these funds in advance<\/strong> in order to make a successful application.<\/p>\n The German government sets a minimum threshold of \u20ac4,320<\/strong> for JSV applicants.<\/p>\n If you can\u2019t prove that you have at least this much money in your account, your application will not be successful.<\/p>\n In reality, you may need significantly more money than this, as the \u20ac4,320 figure is a bare minimum that will only provide a very basic standard of living<\/a>.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.0.7″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.0.7″][et_pb_code admin_label=”LINGOKING” _builder_version=”4.4.2″ text_orientation=”center”] This may seem like a less tangible requirement than the things we\u2019ve covered above.<\/p>\n But it\u2019s arguably the most important factor.<\/p>\n Remember, even if your application is successful, you\u2019ll still need to actually find a job<\/a>.
